"Kinda Sorta Pretty Really".....The new album from Scenic Byway coming soon
InkAddict got the opportunity to sit down with Scenic Byway and talk about the music business, their new album and how the talented group of musicians came together.
1. How did you guys get together?
Genetics-Well we’re a group of six but four of us went to high school together and started just kind of freestyling together and making beats. And then about four or five years ago we decided we should make it our own so we just started jamming together and it just kind of went on from there.
2. Were any of you in any other bands?

Tattoo artist Jay Painter and Nick of Independent Tattoo were kind enough to take a few minutes out of their busy ass schedules to let InkAddict know a little more about themselves, life in Missouri and the tattoo industry.
1. When did you decide that tattooing would be your life’s mission?
Jay: Right after high school
2. What got you started in the tattoo industry?
Jay: My dad was actually a tattoo artis, so I’ve always wanted to be one. And I’ve always been
an artist, so it kind of stuck with me.
3. Who are some of your favorite tattoo artists?

IA: Tell InkAddict something about yourself most people don’t know
Jon: I have a tail
IA: If you weren’t tattooing what would you be doing?
Jon: Hopefully some kind of art. Before I tattooed I was a carpenter and that shit sucked. Which I think kind of drove me into being a tattoo artist because it allowed me to be a career artist and not a carpenter, and being a grunt. And I hated being a grunt, I think that’s why when I heard tattoo artist I was like hell yeah, cause now I don’t have to carry around wood all fucking day.

When you think about musicians with tattoos, teen sensation Justin Bieber is probably not the first — nor the hundredth — to come to mind. Yet on Monday (May 17), photos emerged showing the young singer getting, and then sporting, a small tattoo on his torso.
Two photos are making the rounds: one is a shot of Bieber sitting in a tattoo parlor, shirt pulled up, with the tattoo artist finishing up his work. The other finds him playing on a beach in Sydney, Australia, with the tattoo visible on his pelvis.

It all started Friday, May 7th at the Rack and Roll and finished this past Saturday with Robots in the Garden opening for Ty Stone at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit. Two weekends of great entertainment and music made me proud to be part of the Detroit music scene. Packed crowds supporting local bands that work their asses off and play great music is what the past two weekends were all about. Musicians who promote hard and leave everything on stage to give fans their money's worth.

Came across a list of 101 facts about tattoos and tattoo culture. I was thinking to break this up into a couple posts... what the heck.

2: Tattoos are rarely done in ink, what is commonly called inks, are actually suspended solid color particles, mostly metal salts and plastics, but not vegetable dyes as commonly believed.
